- Professor Zhang is a co-founder of Thayer International Group (TIG) and has more than 25 years of experiences in the service industry. Mr. Zhang established first and largest China hotel central reservation system and led China’s first buyout of NYSE listed company-Interstate Hotels and Resorts. In a ten-year period, Mr. Zhang Spearheaded the growth of a 300-hotel to 6500-hotel chain, the second largest in the world. He has been recognized with his leadership and achievements by distinguished organizations including Top Financial Executives in the US in 2003, China’s Top 10 Distinguished CEO in 2010. Professor Zhang graduated from the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University and holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School.
