GSM welcomes new faculty members this year. We are delighted to introduce Associate Professor Satoshi OGOE.
<Greetings>
My name is Satoshi Ogoe, and I was appointed as a Program-specific Associate Professor of Mizuho Securities Endowment Program at GSM this June.
<Background before joining GSM>
Prior to joining GSM, I had been involved in the asset management industry for a longtime. In particular, I was engaged in stewardship activities, which focused on dialogue with investee companies and the exercise of voting rights.
<Fields of expertise and content of research>
My specialized field is the corporate governance from the academic discipline of corporate finance, but I have a wide range of interests. I researched CEOs in Japanese companies in terms of finance, accounting, and management when I was a doctoral student. In the future, I would like to continue researching corporate governance without being limited by academic disciplines.

From my experience, in business school, of course what you learn from a lecture is important, but learning from your classmates is equally important. While it’s easy to find a quick answer to an assignment, collaborating with classmates to develop solutions and achieve results is more challenging. I believe that this difficulty will ultimately become your assets. As a faculty members, I will try to provide such opportunities.
