Tell us about the classes and research during your study abroad.
Some classes are attended by several hundred people together in a large auditorium, while others have classes of a few dozen or even a dozen students for group discussions and group work.
Some classes may also be offered twice a week, one online and one face-to-face, depending on the teacher. In such cases, final examinations may be scheduled earlier.
Some language courses are also offered during the breaks, so short-term intensive language courses are another option if you are unable to attend during term time.

Tell us about the school’s environment (Facilities, faculty and staff members, students, etc.).
The School of Management is located on the main campus, about a 30-minute walk to Marienplatz. The campus is conveniently located near several museums, and especially on Sundays, visitors can view the works of famous painters for only one euro.
The teachers speak English very fluently and treat all students equally and in a friendly manner. Students actively participate in discussions and have lively interactions with each other. I enjoyed very much the communication with other students after the classes.

Did you participate in any activities besides lectures and research?
I participated in events organized by Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern and the institute, and had many interesting discussions with my Buddy.
I also enjoyed traveling when I had free time, learning about the local culture and customs, and developing my planning and resourcefulness skills.
I often went to the opera, musicals, and symphonies.

Reflect your study abroad and tell us about your thoughts.

This is a view of the Christmas market at Marienplatz during the Christmas period (around the green hut), the New Town Hall and Frauenkirche in the winter evening sun, taken from the tower of St. Peter's Church.
Through my study abroad experience, I have gained many vivid memories and experiences that are engraved deeply in my mind.
The city of Munich has become a very special place for me. It used to be just a place name, but now when I hear the word “Munich,” it reminds me of various oddities and happenings, as well as the confusion I felt when I first arrived. For example, in the early days after my arrival, I took a three-hour round-trip bus ride to IKEA for shopping and then returned to my dormitory with heavy luggage in both hands. Enjoying an all-day drive with a Japanese friend I met on the way to Zurich. Having a New Year's Eve dinner with a Chinese staff member whom I met by chance at the opera theater. When I got off the train at the German-Austrian border at 6 p.m. in the wrong direction and got off at an unstaffed station, I met an Austrian who had just finished climbing the Alps, and in our brief conversation we talked about hiking in the Alps and the source of the River Isar, etc. Looking back on it like this, I have so many memories. I was especially lucky to have met a very nice and kind Buddy. She is a German girl and together we toured many Christmas markets, took many pictures and exchanged many things. She loves matcha green tea, so when she comes to Japan, I hope to enjoy authentic matcha green tea together with her.
Being able to connect with so many different people in class and on my travels has increased my willingness to interact with different countries and cultures.

What kind of impact or changes has your experience of studying abroad given you? (Finding a job, future vision, point of view, etc.)
Through this study abroad experience, I was able to broaden my new horizons. In the future, I would like to work in a job where I can play an active role on a global scale.
I also deeply realized that people of different skin colors, customs, and cultures live in all parts of the world, and I understood that individual differences are commonplace in the world. I feel that these experiences will help me develop a mindset of confidence, yet humility and respect for diversity.

Please give some advice and message to the prospective students who are thinking of studying abroad.
If you have a Buddy program, I suggest you sign up. It is not easy to meet a buddy who is a good fit for you, but if you meet a great buddy, I am sure you will have a very special experience.
