2011.03.17 Results of the ABEST21 Accreditation Review for the 2010 Academic Year

 

 The Kyoto University Graduate School of Management has received the business/management graduate school accreditation from “The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21” with the results stating that “the graduate school has satisfied most or all of the evaluation criteria with very few problems that need revision…the maintenance and improvement of educational and research standards are expected and the program is an overall excellent educational program” (translation).

Following the certification board meeting on March 4, 2011, a ceremony was held at the Fuji Zerox R&D Square at the Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 to award certificates and plaques to the three institutions which received certification. Dean Kiyoshi Kobayashi and Professor Hirotaka Kawano attended the ceremony as representatives from the Graduate School of Management.

The following are the schools that were certified this year:

Nanzan University Graduate School of Business Administration

Management & Science University, Malaysia, Graduate School of Management

Kyoto University Graduate School of Management

*There are two types of certification evaluations which are (1) according to the School Education Law Article 109 Section 2, all universities must undergo a “university certification evaluation” regarding the university’s overall education and research situation (all departments; every 7 years); and (2) according to the School Education Law Article 109 Section 3, universities with specialized graduate schools must undergo a “graduate school specialization area certification evaluation” regarding the graduate school’s education and research situation (according to graduate schools; every 5 years).
