H28.06.09 Special Lecture by Professor Basu, Temple University, US.

Professor Sudipta Basu had a special lecture at Case Study Seminar Room on the third floor of Research Building No.2 on 9 June, 2016 hosted by Graduate School of Management and Mizuho Securities Endowment.This lecture was intended to share the history of invention of accounting and its impact on the society with students from the Graduate School of Management (GSM) and those from the Graduate School of Economics (GSE), Kyoto University.
In this lecture, Professor Basu from Temple University, US, delivered a talk titled “If we had not invented accounting…”. Professor Basu emphasized that the invention of accounting originates from approximately 10,000 years ago and it has played a role as a foundation of the economic growth in our human society. Active discussion was made after the presentation. The lecture was successfully completed with 9 researchers from various universities and 39 attendees from GSM and GSE.
