2010.11.17 The Graduate School of Management Establishes an Exchange Agreement with the Singapore Management University Institute of Service Excellence

On November 12, 2010, the Graduate School of Management established an academic and technological exchange agreement with the Institute of Service Excellence (ISES) at the Singapore Management University. The signing ceremony took place at the Kyoto University Seifuso and was attended by Graduate School of Management Dean, Professor Kiyoshi Kobayashi, and ISES Director Caroline Lim. The agreement states that GSM Professor Yoshiaki Hara, ISES Director Caroline Lim, and ISES Professor Marcus Lee will collaborate to development the “Executive Education Program”, a training program from business managers, and other joint research projects in academic and technological areas.

The Graduate School of Management established the “Service Innovation Personnel Training Program” in April 2007 to nurture future business leaders in service fields. ISES evaluates and conducts research in the service area with the cooperation of the Singapore government and business managers. With this exchange agreement, there will be joint research and the development of the Executive Education Program and there is hope for mutual benefits in both education and research activities.

As part of the exchange activities, Director Caroline Lim participated as a panelist in “3rd Kyoto University Service Innovation International Symposium – Internationalization of Services: Inbound and Outbound Service Expansion” held on the on the day following the signing ceremony, November 13, 2010.
