Overview

Service is a business activity in which “hospitality” is provided; customers and businesses create value for customers through their collective efforts.
The program aims to help students develop their management skills by systematically exposing them to learning opportunities related to leading-edge management concepts and excellent management case studies unique to the service industry; it is designed for individuals in the workforce who are university graduates or above and are involved in service management, and is offered by the Service Value Creation Program, Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University.
Students who complete this program will be awarded a certificate of completion.
Specifically, students will learn the fundamental concepts of advanced service management theory, such as marketing and IT utilization strategies, and the characteristics of outstanding management cases in Japan and other countries over a period of four to five months, during which they will attend lectures. Students will develop the practical abilities to create new service brand businesses through team-based learning exercises facilitated during intensive lectures held on weekends for approximately six months.
