Overview
The development of a sound corporate society depends on management’s ability and willingness to make appropriate decisions, based upon which employees can then share its direction and generate wealth. As a form of accounting focused on management, management accounting supports management decision-making and contributes to the realization of the company's social mission.
However, many SMEs, which account for the majority of Japanese companies, lack sufficient management accounting, and only a few large and medium-sized companies have advanced management accounting capabilities. Beneath this situation lies the fact that management accounting experts have not been established as professionals in Japan and society does not fully recognize the importance of their expertise.
In this course, we promote research on management systems centered around management accounting and develop a program to train management accounting experts to support management with the aim of contributing to the sound development of Japanese corporate society.
