Just as a fish can swim "freely" only when it has the condition of water, "freedom" has its conditions. Then, what are the conditions of "freedom" for the Japanese? It is my job to consider this in the context of ideology, literature, and history. I hope you will understand that my daily activities of literary criticism are an extension of this practice and research.
