経営管理大学院は、平成28年3月30日～4月1日、総合研究2号館ケーススタディ演習室他にてEDEN CIMA MECLO seminar on “Conducting, writing and publishing case-based research in management accounting”を開催しました。
本セミナーは、若手研究者・院生を対象に、ケース研究法に基づいた管理会計研究の実施・論文執筆・専門誌掲載について、最新の知見に基づいた実践的な教育を行う目的で開催されました。EDEN CIMA MELCO seminar on “Conducting, writing and publishing case-based research in management accounting”は、EU諸国の高等教育水準向上に向けて調印されたボローニャ宣言に基づきEIASM（European Institute of Advance Studies in Management）によって実施されている国際セミナー(EDEN seminar)を京都大学で行ったものです。
EDENとは、EIASM’s Doctoral Education Networkの略称で、今回の京都大学での開催は、京都大学経営管理大学院、京都ビジネスリサーチセンター、EIASM、メルコ学術振興財団（MELCO foundation）、英国勅許管理会計士協会(Chartered Institute of Management Accountants: CIMA)が協力することで実現しました。
今回のセミナーは、EIASM本部のあるブリュッセルで昨年開催された5日間のセミナーを、日本の事情を勘案して若手研究者が集まりやすいよう3日間に短縮したものです。日本での開催ということで応募者が少ないのではないかと懸念されましたたが、15名の定員枠に29名の申し込みがあり、選考の結果、日本の大学に所属する10名、日本以外のアジア3名、ヨーロッパ6名の19名に参加許可が与えられた。最終的に、参加できないと連絡があった3名を除いた16名と聴講学生4名がセミナーに参加しました。参加にあたっては基本書籍2冊と関連論文15本の必読文献(pre-readings)を熟読しておくことと、それぞれの研究計画書を提出しておくことが求められました。必読文献は、3日間のセミナーでの議論を理解するために必要な知識を得るために読んでおくことが求められたものです。セミナーでは、主要なテーマについて澤邉紀生（京都大学経営管理大学院）、David Cooper（Alberta Business School）、Jan Mouritsen（Copenhagen Business School）が講義を行った後、それぞれの講義に関連したグループワークとディスカッションを実施することで理解を深めるという形式が採用されました。グループワークは、上記3名の講師にPaul Andon（University of New South Wales）の4名がついてアドバイスを行いつつ進められました。また、それぞれのグループにおいて、参加者一人あたり最低1時間の発表時間（質疑応答を含める）が割り振られ、それぞれの研究計画を発表する機会が与えられました。EIASMでの5日間のプログラムを3日間に短縮したハードなスケジュールではありましたたが、参加者にはまたとない貴重な学習の機会となりました。
