GSM Distinguished Professor Kiyoshi Kobayashi received the 2021 JSCE Achievement Award on June 10, 2022. The award was established in 1920 by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) and is given for outstanding achievements in the advancement of civil engineering, the development of civil engineering projects, and the advancement of JSCE.

He is a world-known researcher in the fields of Urban and Infrastructure Management and Economics and has been a chairman for many important committees in various academic societies and public institutions. He has already received several precious awards including the Distinguished Research Awards by Japan Society of Civil Engineers.
