The Graduate School of Management held a special lecture on October 14, 2021, at Taizoin, Myoshinji Temple (Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City) by the deputy head priest Matsuyama Daiko, as part of the second semester course “Innovative Hospitality Management.”
The special lecture was titled “The influence of Zen of Japanese culture and business” and presented an overview of the history of Zen and how it has influenced Japanese culture and business philosophy. After the lecture, the participants experienced Zen meditation while feeling the cool autumn evening breeze and the sounds of nature.
This event was held in a hybrid format, combining on-site and online participation of about 40 students in total. During the question-and-answer session there were so many questions that it was impossible to answer all of them.
“Innovative Hospitality Management” course is provided by Integrated Hospitality (Green house) Endowed Chair.
